Battle Buddy Program
Welcome to the Battle Buddy Program at Dalmatia BnB! From one veteran to another, I understand the challenges of transitioning to civilian life. As a former 1ID Engineer who was injured in the military, I found healing through working with dogs. I've created the Battle Buddy Program to provide fellow veterans with more than just a service dog – we're offering a path to renewed independence and peace of mind.
Our Battle Buddy Program pairs disabled veterans with specially trained service dogs, combining military precision with compassionate care. We believe in second chances – that's why we carefully select and train rescue dogs from local shelters, transforming them into exceptional service animals. Not only are we changing veterans' lives, but we're also giving deserving shelter dogs a new purpose and a forever home.

Drawing from both my military experience and extensive dog training expertise, I've developed a comprehensive 6-week program that transforms capable canines into reliable battle buddies who've got your six.

BATTLE BUDDY PROGRAM - VETERAN QUALIFICATIONS
Basic Requirements:
• Must be a disabled veteran with proof of service
• Must have a documented disability that a service dog can assist with (physical, PTSD, etc.)
• Must be able to physically and mentally care for a service dog
• Must have stable housing that allows service dogs Financial Requirements:
• Must demonstrate ability to financially support ongoing dog care including:
- Regular veterinary care
- Monthly food and supplies
- Emergency medical fund
- Basic grooming needs Living
Situation Requirements:
• Safe, stable housing environment
• Landlord approval if renting
• Appropriate space for a service dog
• Supportive home environment
Commitment Requirements:
• Must commit to completing the full 6-week training program
• Ability to attend all required training sessions
• Willingness to practice training exercises daily
• Commitment to ongoing care and maintenance of the service dog
• Agreement to follow service dog public access guidelines
• Dedication to maintaining the dog's training standards
Documentation Needed:
• DD-214 or military service records
• Documentation of service-connected disability
• Proof of residence
• Two personal references
• Veterinary reference (if currently own pets)
• Evidence of financial ability
